Child Safe Training

Practical, accredited training that helps your people recognise risk, respond correctly, and feel confident doing it — in real situations, not just on paper.

What This Service Is

Child safe training builds the knowledge and confidence your staff, leadership, and volunteers need to keep children and young people safe in practice.

We deliver accredited training across a range of formats — from mandatory reporting and RRHAN to child safe environments and safeguarding fundamentals. Sessions are practical, grounded in real scenarios, and tailored to your organisation and the people in the room.

Training is available onsite or online, and can be scoped as a fixed session or a longer tailored program depending on your needs.

What Problems This Solves

  • Staff have completed training before but aren't confident applying it in real situations.
  • Mandatory reporting obligations aren't clearly understood across your organisation.
  • New staff need to be brought up to standard quickly.
  • Leadership and boards need to understand their child safety responsibilities.
  • Training hasn't been updated to reflect current legislation or frameworks.
  • Your organisation works with young people directly and wants them to understand their rights and protective strategies.

What Is Included

Training is tailored to your organisation and audience. Depending on your needs, sessions can include:

  • Mandatory reporting obligations and RRHAN (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect).
  • Child safe environments — principles, responsibilities, and practice.
  • Recognising and responding to disclosures.
  • Reporting pathways and documentation.
  • Scenario-based learning and practical application.
  • Space for questions, discussion, and real case examples.
  • Post-training support and resources.

How It Works

  1. We discuss your organisation, your audience, and what you need the training to achieve

  2. A session format is agreed — fixed module or tailored program, onsite or online

  3. Training is delivered by Linda or an accredited trainer under Linda's direct oversight

  4. Participants leave with practical knowledge and clear next steps

  5. Follow-up support is available if needed

Who This Is For

Training is delivered across a wide range of audiences:

  • Staff and volunteers in child-facing roles.
  • Leadership teams and boards.
  • Educators and education workers — early childhood, primary, and secondary.
  • Community service and not-for-profit organisations.
  • Sporting clubs and organisations.
  • Students and young people in secondary education settings.

What This Looks Like in Practice

Educators

We delivered a face-to-face RRHAN Masterclass for educators from early childhood, primary, and secondary school settings. The session focused on building confidence in recognising, responding to, and reporting child safety concerns. Participants left with a clear understanding of their mandatory reporting obligations and practical strategies for applying them in their day-to-day work.

Students

We delivered RRHAN training directly to Year 11 students, creating space for discussion about child safety, rights, boundaries, and reporting pathways. Engaging young people directly in this conversation is one of the most effective preventative steps an organisation can take. The session was practical, age-appropriate, and gave students real tools to use.

Organisation-wide

A large community services organisation needed a refresher across multiple staff cohorts with varying levels of existing knowledge. We delivered tailored onsite sessions focused on real scenarios, creating space for honest discussion about the gaps staff were actually experiencing. Staff left with greater confidence and clearer understanding of their responsibilities.
